  1. [disclaimer: I own multiple guns, >5 but <20, so I'm not saying this due to being against owning guns... I'm anti-idiots, not anti-guns! ❤️] After those two range clips... I really do think a new policy needs to be in place. Where any time a range, or bystander at a range, captures footage of a future Darwin Award recipient doing something ABSOLUTELY NO BUENO... that either: A) If there's an RSO there, or anyone behind the scenes that works there and sees it occur, then any and all firearms currently with them in the lane (in the possession of the idiot offending person) are temporarily seized. Immediately, without hate, the RSO/Employee contacts the police (ATF?? or whomever) and the responding unit is to review the footage. B) If there is no aforementioned RSO/employee at hand, and no other third-party witness, then the modem the footage is seen, the police are immediately contacted (or whichever authority deemed better-suited) and the incident followed up on. AT WHICH POINT... In the case of the first colossal fucking moron offender, it's only fair that a fine is paid ($1000min; I'm on with $3k, or even more). This covers the time whichever authority figure had to spend while following up on this nonsense, but also to (hopefully) help cement into the person's brain that what they did wasn't acceptable. ALSO, mandatory completion of Firearm Safety Training; regardless of if they are the gun owner, own any guns, or have previously completed it – meaning fucksticks who don't learn repeat offenders would have to sit through FST again, each time. The guns are confiscated by said authority, until completion of FST. Certificate being shown = their guns being returned. If held longer than 1 year, their guns are auctioned off, and the individual cannot legally buy or own one until being FST certified. IF they are not the owner, that individual simply needs to provide proof of ownership to get it/them back. (hey, it sucks, but it's a lesson for everyone!) For the second offender... The offense isn't nearly what the first one was. Could still result in harm to someone else, sure, but it was a legitimate knee-jerk reaction: loud noises triggers covering ears (no pun intended). However, it still could have been avoided! Not just in the obvious to prevent the situation, but should it somehow happen even when knowing better. For instance, covering one ear and pressing the other into your shoulder, maintaining the barrel pointed down-range until the others stop shooting or someone can come help. As such, there may not be a fine, but they still will have to maintain FST. All the same as above in terms of getting the gun back, for whoever owns it. I doubt anyone will read all of this though, but I tried to make it fair, and still serve to both act as a deterrent AND drill safety into people's heads to make it second nature. ✌️🎅
