On the off-chance Gav or Dan sees this... If you DO go larger, you can kind of skip doing them by over-voltage. I caused many to pop when I had no clue what I was doing any tried to fix my computer's power supply almost 15 years ago. I didn't know there were polarities on most capacitors (the light strip on them is negative)... So when I soldered in the replacements, some went in reverse polarity 🥴
Despite having the vent provisions, a couple promptly exploded when I finally powered up the PSU, just like that tiny one (16v 1000uf minimum, might've been upwards of 2200uf)
Needles to say, it scared the bejesus out of me since I was inside my bedroom lol I had very quickly unplugged it, but then moved outside since I didn't know why. When I powered it up again, more popped, launching their roles of paper across the patio.
Needles to say I learned A LOT that day, as I found out why... My stripe did not line up with the black silkscreen mark on the PCB. That mistake was never made again!! 😊
