Gav... Can we get a SPEED estimate on those crucible chunks that were flying left and right, on ""Day 2""? (obviously the one coming towards the camera wouldn't be possible [presumably])
Those were both crazy!
I'm with Dan as well... Molten salt, which is -800- 801 C, and is clear... very weird! My brain wants to interpret it as being metallic (like Gallium, even) since Sodium IS a metal. Also makes me wonder what the stuff in it is, which was glowing red hot... some sort of slag?? 🤔🤷♂️
[ BONUS QUESTION: Google has failed me (no surprise these days), so maybe someone here knows... What does molten table salt become, once it cools down and solidifies??
I presume that during heating, the Sodium-Chloride bond breaks, and since there isn't any chlorine gas around for it to absorb, it wouldn't return to being NaCl once it cooled? But considering molten elemental sodium, from what I can find, indeed retains its metallic appearance, I presume that molten NaCl would not magically cool down to become pure elemental sodium... 🤔🤷♂️
Thus, my curiosity! 😊♥️ ]
