  1. 15.5 years ago, we got adopted by a few month old Husky puppy that wandered in from the woods. Best dog ever, too! Still makes me sad to think some family would abandon her 🥺 and yet, I'm so damn happy she chose us to be her new family. 🥹 She's still with us, too!! Still going strong, despite arthritis... and is now bugging me to go outside, so 👋😅

  12.  @syrtycon7299  Actually...... You'd be amazed at what the 6-layer bullet proof glass that Kentucky Ballistics recently spot, was able to stop... He shot it with a much larger caliber, his 4-bore (~.94cal), and it soaked it up! Took the rest of his elephant rifle solid-brass rounds, as well... And then like 5 handguns worth! The only round that went through was one round of .50AE that hit an already weak spot! The 5 glass layers did their job of breaking up the rounds, and the 6th layer of polycarb did its job of holding the kinetic energy from punching through. Granted, the 4-bore left a giant bulge, but it's not a pointy round like a BMG's. While the various Nitro Express rounds left smaller bulges. But that's also why I thought it might not have been a BMG, as there didn't seem to be any bulge. So I'm willing to accept that it might've been a light powder load, as you suggested...

  14.  @joetroutt7425  Ah. That I'd agree on. And yes, it was digital. Likely needing barely any air movement. (although I believe that I had seen a clip once of someone who could move paper held by their ear; a ruptured eardrum may also allow even greater airflow, but I'm speculating there)

  16.  @Alpha99333  I don't disagree that it's stupid to do this voluntarily when a camera and ballistic dummy are just as good, but... I'm pretty sure that's the whole point of signing a waiver, no? At the end of the day, if smart and/or sane people want to do stupid things which might render them unalive... well, they have my blessing. 😅 And yet, it's really no different than what an astronaut does. They've done the science, then they ran simulations, then built a test article and run it through its paces, then sent it skyward to collect even more data, only to build a completely new one* to strap human beings to – it's a calculated risk that science deems should be safe, but it's still a risk. [* prior to SpaceX pioneering reusable Stage 1 rockets, which everyone else still does it the old way (at least for now), expending everything but the capsule every launch, and thereby having to build everything brand new for the next time]

I never bothered looking into the scope of waivers in this kind of situation, given I have no desire to be in OR put anyone in, such a scenario... 😁 However, don't worry, I'm indeed aware of the rules of gun safety! Despite having gone through it when I was 13, those things stick with you, even if you don't become a hunter like dad hoped haha (I do thoroughly enjoy plinking, though, with all calibers!)

  20.  @Alpha99333  Dad had some hunting property in rural Minnesota, which had a long-since rundown 2 story farm house on it (but still standing), with loads of junk in it. Many weekends of my late-80s and 90s childhood was out there, shooting at said junk, as well as the chimney coming out of the center of the roof. 😅 Even with the SKS, it took quite a few years before the base of protruding part finally gave way... Lots of good, harmless fun! 😊

  26. ​ @joetroutt7425  It's definitely not fake (air through the ear). Our head cavities are connected in very strange ways. This means some can push air out their tear ducts (I did it once by accident, on an airplane), and some are able to push air out their ears (have you never wondered how that method of popping your ears on the plane works?) A more common trick with the tear ducts is by people talking a sip of milk and expressing that from their ducts! As for popping ears on the audiograms, I found that a proper yawn can do it, which I then found that just flexing my jaw whilst opening my mouth will pop my ears... No need to yawn or force holding your breath. 👍

  39. I'm sure it's been mentioned, but on the off chance it hasn't... Most places measure the weight of the burger patty BEFORE cooking. Where the weight lost is in moisture evaporation and fat rendering (turning to grease and draining) during the cooking process. Admittedly, it sucks for us, but... not much we can do about it. 😞

  41. I can explain the hissing lady... See, the waiter had just eaten lunch, which their food had a lot of garlic. Since the lady is clearly a vampire, this was not just highly offensive, but highly painful to be near them! As such, her survival instincts kicked in, thus resulting in the hissing! Hope this helps! 😊

  43. The bottle of water was super-chilled. The bottle of water had been in the freezer, but there were no nucleation points for a crystal to form, so it didn't freeze. However, once poured, it was kick started and instantly started freezing. This can happen with soda as well! A similar, but FAR more dangerous situation can occur when heating water in a coffee mug in the microwave. It becomes super-heated but can't start boiling for the same reason. It becomes dangerous because once you pour something in, it can instantly boil and erupt ou of the mug, severely scalding you! So if you insist on boiling water in the microwave (since it's conveniently super fast), put a few grains of salt or sugar in it first. (I'm sure many others have said similar already 😅)

You draw a vacuum inside a cup (either with fire, or a hand pump like her's) and it draws blood to the surface which supposedly helps with various things. Quite a number of Olympic athletes believe in it, but then again, placebos also have significant effects on patients too, so... 🤷‍♂️😋

Or at least that's the impression I've gotten from my Husky when she's had to wear the cone of shame, because she seems to intentionally run into stuff just to be annoying so that we'll take it off... 🤣 It was that look at the end after reaching the top step, that makes me think it's on purpose. As though to convey to the owner: "Yea... it sucks, doesn't it?! 😑"
