1:16 I really enjoyed the debris (ice?) spiraling into the exhaust, being illuminated by the rocket engine's inferno! Reminds me of embers of a campfire when a pine log pops, sending the upwards in the hot air. 😊

😱 This must be the cause of my tinnitus!!! 😊

I like that our beloved show Firefly has rather accurately predicted who the two superpowers in space will be: USA, and China 😊

@Flinno-k8w I didn't say they had issues in their space program. I said they have issues with making good quality CONCRETE. I then went on to speculate that is plausible that they also lack quality steel, and that's perhaps why they appear to have over-engineered their launch pad structures, to compensate.

@rosswarren436 🤞😌🤞 that a Starship can have at least one mostly-empty crew deck (eg nothing on the walls), and that they can spin it fast enough ("roll", not "flip") for at least some meaningful period of time each day, to run some tests. Yes, that would mean it would effectively be a temporary space station, as they would undoubtedly need to remain on orbit for over a month... but baby steps. Some data is better than no data!

@kimbleangus7321 Yea, I won't (and can't) pretend that anything is set in stone yet. Case in point that other ""superpower"" that ceased to be one almost overnight... Which honestly you would think THEY would be the pick for the other one to be in the show. (unless they opted not to, in order to try and not make it super whitewashed 🤷♂️) But yea we never got to really experience the worldbuilding and see the Chinese influence in the show, beyond a few small things here and there, and the heavy language impact. More was present in the Serenity movie, though, but still not predominantly in any way.

@RC-fp1tl HA! Very true... I was so enamored by the footage that I completely forgot that a fire detection satellite was the payload 😅

@davidkavanagh189 🙄 Really? I'm quite aware how far out, timeline wise, my suggestion is, and that SS isn't human rated yet. How could it be, after all, when it's still in the design and test stages!

NSF I'm pretty sure has, almost positive that Marcus House had as well.

@jonasfrito2 While we're on correcting bad behavior, can I please ask to not stoop to their level by calling someone an "AI bot"? Doesn't matter if they're repeating nonsense, it's a low-IQ insult, so I say let them have and use it, but not us. Thanks 🍻

@Flinno-k8w Given that they've had alot of issues with their structural concrete, I can't help but wonder if this "excessive/over-built" structure is solely to compensate for lower grade materials?? 🤷♂️ You'd want to think that "steel has been around forever, it's a known thing" and yet... concrete has been around vastly longer, so you'd similarly think there should be no such issues in modern times. Just my speculative 2¢ 😊

जिओ गाना That makes no sense... How (and why) would we import concrete when we already have all the raw materials necessary to make it? We also have plenty of iron. It's knowing how to mix it, or properly smelt it, so that is of sufficient quality. That's where their issues lies.

@physicswithpark3r-x3x Trust me, I have yet to ramble in this thread 😉

@physicswithpark3r-x3x Not really, it's just a bit sad that people these days think that a few sentences constitutes a "ramble". However, I will give you kudos for actually reading the replies, since since too few even bother to do that 🍻
