My thought on the porosity cause it's that the powder as it's getting higher and higher, the bed (the pile) shifts and grains shift. That means there's not enough to melt, resulting in porosity... So I wonder if simply inducing a vibration after each pass, tip settle the powder before putting on another layer, might help prevent that? 🤔

And in addition to the initial shock vibration, I can see the remaining nozzle also causing pressure on the engine's "neck", lending to the failure as well. Alternatively, if the nozzle had a defect, no reason they're couldn't be some elsewhere that they didn't notice. edit: guess I should've waited, as it was indeed a bit of a defect! hah
