There were two sides lol? Didn’t notice. If they really wanted to get both sides they should have had women who has taken the Hijab off and been persecuted for it. They purposely got people who would more or less agree so they didn’t offend their chosen audience.

@ThatClassicGirlXO Well for instance youve left 2 replies to my comment saying Christian belief tends to trigger atheists (on an insult) so already you seem to be quite uptight about Christianity, no offense. But what I mean is that they usually misunderstand Christians by simplyfying Christian belief and are often unwilling to listen for long enough to have a rational conversation. Possibly because some of them have had what they perceive as negative interactions with Christianity they have more hang ups and emotional baggage over it than they admit. Then there are those grown men atheists who are more like 14 year old edgelords who are trying to be rude about it and are totally close minded. Im sure there must be some cool atheists but they dont usually advertise the fact - so they're not the ones discussing it.

Aside from Orthodox all the current other Christian denominations didnt even exist until well after 1000 years after Catholics. Without Catholics and their culture and theology as well as there acts in defense of Christianity, no other Christians would exist at all. Any other Christian denomination disrespecting Catholics outright is the one who knows nothing of Christianity or its history. As is anyone who believes the Quranic version of Jesus re-written 6 centuries after Christ for the manipulative purpose of changing the story of Jesus to that of a prophet who didnt die - so that Mohammed would seem better by comparison while simultounasly calling Christians wrong.

@mrbad9171 But your wrong - clearly wearing a hijab does reduce the respect you get from many people in non-muslim countries and many people in non muslim countries think the hijab does hurt their community and dont want their children raised around people wearing a hijab in the same way muslims countries dont respect "almost naked" women and dont want their children raised that way. Yet muslims dont remove their Hijabs in non muslim countries so people respect them more and are offended by being told they should and Muslims dont care if people in non muslim countries think them wearing the hijab is hurting their non muslim community. So its you who should stop closing your mind and see that your being very hypocritical and arrogant when you say people need to dress a certain way in Muslim countries but Muslims can dress however they want in any country.

@Imam Abu Ali ibn Abi Mas'oud Of course you believe some freedom of speech should be limited - for people who arent Muslim the big takeaway from whats going on in France - from the Hijab debate, to the Mohammed cartoons, is that almost all Muslims seem to think freedom of speech should be limited and no religion should be open to mocking or questioning (least of all their own). And Im not talking about the maniacs who behead people, Im talking about your average non violent Muslim here. How little the average Muslim who migrates actually agrees with the pre-existing societal opinions in countries like France or understands their worth or cares to adapt to them is actually being made very obvious by the whole thing. They may be good people (just human like anyone), but they're proving that theyre cultural religous attitudes simply arent compatible with the west. And who are they as such a small minority to think societies should change for them?

It wasn't "normal all across the globe" at all - it may have been normal in the tribal middle east where Mohammed was but marrying 6 year olds wasn't normal anywhere in Europe at that time and it wasn't normal in Ancient Rome before that - in both places the law was that females must be 12 or over to be married and males must be 14 or over. The general rule of decorum was that it had to be after the onset of childbearing age (which Mohammed of course didnt care at all about). The average age of marriage in Dark ages europe was 16 for women and in Ancient rome it was 17. The reality is Mohammed did many things with women which were unusual and against tradition and law even in his own time - such as the time he told his cousin to divorce his wife so that he (Mohammed) could make her one of his wives all because an angel told him it was fine lol. Its funny, Mohammed first married an older woman who had money and because of her he gained political and religious influence in Mecca, and somehow he managed to stay married to her for a decade without taking a bunch of child brides, yet as soon as she died and he was free from having to please her he suddenly was taking brides left and right. Its almost as tho he was a kept man for half his adult life then went crazy with women once he was finally "free" of his first wife.

Why on earth would you do that as a Christian? No where in the New Testament is that discussed, why would you think that would bring you closer to God? The early Christian women of Rome didn’t wear any kind of head coverings, it’s mainly a medieval invention by countries close to Islamic countries. You shouldn’t be wearing a head covering if your a Christian, it makes no sense at all.

@Hamza-fr1gj Underage by todays standards - None married 6 year olds. Average age of marriage for women in Medieval england was between 17 and 25. In ancient Rome it was 16-20. Hardly 9. It may have happened in that place in Arabia but it wasnt common all across the world in those times or ancient times. There is actually no evidence Mary was 12 years old and the Bible never states it either - unless you are being told that by Islamic scholars you are making that up - if your are they are making it up

@mrbad9171 The point is you are a hypocrite to set yourself up as the world judge of what should and shouldnt be respected and then say muslim dress should be respected everywhere but "immodest" dress shouldnt be. And you do not have any interest in giving the "simple rights" (which you already have) to people that you deem immodest in your country - which is your choice but it is wrong to demand that your style be accepted somewhere else if you wont do the same in return. What you call decadence is simply human skin to others - The early Roman Christian women werent any where near modest by Islamic standards so the "Christian" countries dont see the point in it as they dont have that tradition. You should be more respectful of that and less superior in attitude if you want the same respect back. If I ever visit some very Islamic country I would dress respectfully - but I wouldnt accept disrespect of myself or any women I cared for in my own.

The Catholics are the first and best Church - all others come from them and they created modern Christian thought in ways those who bash them barely comprehend. If your referring to the Crusades ruining things they were in defense of Christians (not even Catholic) who were being invaded by Muslims - and the Catholics were brave enough to risk their lives to protect them. Without them Christianity would have fallen, even if they did take some things too far. Not to mention that even if your not Catholic - whatever Christian group you are from splintered from the Catholic church so its ancestory so to speak is still with the Catholics, just like a branch growing from a tree.

Not to mention all early Roman Christians men wore Togas which a sleeveles tunics that show the arms and legs just like a singlet and shorts would. That is in no way Christian its just a silly invention based on what Modern Americans thought was respectable. Also how is wearing a long skirt imitating the holy beauty of God? That makes very little sense.

But the reality speaks for itself - amount of people murdered by Jesus or on his Command = 0, amount of people murdered by or on the command of Mohammed = so high it cant be counted. Jesus literally refused to fight against his own excecution so that he could stay true to his purpose, Mohammed believed part of his purpose was spreading the Quran by starting wars.

Are you trying to say all Christian women are nuns now? why even compare Nuns to all Muslim women - it is a meaningless comparison. Nuns are specific members of a religious order with a purpose, Muslim women are all women who are Muslim. Many Muslim women can get educated and many cant, so what? Christian women can too. Hair covering is not a New Testament teaching of Christ which is what Christians follow. Also evidence from ancient times shows that in actually Abrahamic times Jewish women weren’t using any kind of hair covering at all (as evidenced by Egyptian paintings of Jews they traded with), so hair covering is clearly a more recent invention and not even from most of the times of the Old Testament. As with many things in the Old Testament there is a lot of differing information and lessons.

Get over yourself - millions of people have the Bible memorised as well, just as they do the Torah, and people have memorised the Book of Mormon or whatever other religious book. Hell many people have memorised the works of Shakespear and the words of the works of Homer remain unchanged since long before the Quran or Bible - so what? Your acting like that proves something lol. It proves nothing other than the book is important enough to a lot of people to memorize. The reason no other religious people make that claim loudly (even tho they could and it would be true) is because they wouldnt see any reason to make it as tho it somehow proved their book was from God - they would know better and realise that memorizing things in no way proves they're from God and it makes absolutely no logical sense as an argument to say that it does.

What you call hate and judgement is often just people telling their true thoughts on it when appropriate - such as on this video. When you choose to see that as hate because it strengthens faith to see yourself as hated and picked on - or as you say "the struggle which brings you pride" - it appears to rational people that your only engaging in one of the oldest group/religion/cult type thoughts of all - to see any disagreement with a part/belief of said religion as victimization and hate of yourself - which only reinforces your views learnt in aforementioned echo chamber and stengthens your faith.

But it is Islam - the Hijab rule is the invention of Muhammad, the same man who an “angel” told to make his nephew divorce his hot wife so he could add her to his flock of wives, the same man who was married to one wealthy woman for a decade and used her position to gain influence then suddenly upon her death had a bunch of teenage brides - again an angel said it was cool. Islam is from the mind of Muhammad it absolutely is Islam.

@stygiangirl2717 It comes from earlier ideas of modesty which are adopted to varying degrees in many religions (the most being Islam) - it is both a Jewish custom and to a far lesser degree a Roman one (Roman women would sometimes cover their head in some situations but by Jesus time it wasnt practiced much) which made its way into early Christianity because most early Christians were Romans and former Jews. It has some limited basis in the Old Testament (tho their is also evidence against it so whatever) and also in the writings of Paul (Saul) who was in favour of it. Because of this it made its way into Christian custom to varying degrees at different times and was seen as in good taste or representing piety. But none of that actually came from Jesus who never once mentioned it. Really it just became a style of dress which was the done thing for religious women - but it was never mandated by Jesus in the same way it was by Mohammed, it was just in religious style (for lack of a better word) at some points (tho not all of them) in Christianities history. But thats no good reason to wear it now.

@imaantahir7737 No they actually werent altered that much thats just something that Mohammed put in the Quran so that he could claim Islam was the "real" version of what God wanted in an attempt to give his message more validity - how could he possibly know if they had been changed or not lol? And now Muslims scholars repeat it to muslims - but your actually the only ones who think it. There are plenty of records of what Christianity taught going back before the start of Islam. The whole story of Jesus is changed in a very disrespectful way in Islam (he didnt die and wasnt the Son of God etc.) and its a transparent and obvious manipulation to make the story of Jesus less than Mohammeds. Maybe Mohammed was jelly Jesus might have a better story I dont know, but it was very disrespectful and manipulative of him to do that. I dont think Muslims understand that their belief in the changed story of Jesus from the Quaran is actually far more disrespectful to Christians than not believing in him at all (which isnt disrespectful).

@imaantahir7737 Yes the Quran does disrespect Jesus - Mohammed included Jesus in the Quran and downgraded him to a prophet as well as re-writing his Crucifixition so it never happened, because Mohammed didnt want another religious figure to have a story that elevated him higher than Mohammed. Thats is disrespectful whether YOU intend it to be or not. It doesnt matter what you say about my Religion because my religion doesnt once mention yours - unlike the Quran which goes out of its way to rewrite the point of Jesus, thats the reality. How would Mohammed know what happened in the time of Jesus 6 centuries after Jesus lived better than those who lived at the time of and soon after Jesus and in the same society as him (before it fell)? Unless Mohammed is also a time traveller now that makes literally no sense and he could only get away with saying it because the people in the middle east at the time were ignorant enough to believe it.

Youve gotta remember that the the end of the Bible or New Testament is just the beginnings of Christianity - most of the dress those in it had was simply the styles of the time when the Bible was taking place, its the deeds and words of those in it that matter, not their style which is simply what they happened to be wearing when the events of the new testament happened. Their clothes have no religous significance at all. Early Christian women just wore whatever their culture wore at the time - for those coming from jewish culture it was more modest (tho less than you might think), while for those coming from Rome it wasnt modest at all and didnt change at all from their earlier pagan times. The point is that it isnt important at all in Christianity - there is no everlasting dress code, that is silly.

You cant say Jesus married a nine year old or made his cousin divorce his wife so he could marry her - so no, you cant literally say the same about the bible. If you dont believe in Jesus then at worst he is crazy but still quite peaceful, but there is no way to interpret his actions as manipulations for power, influence and women as he sought no power and only preached - and didnt even take up arms to save his own life, as his message and purpose was that important to him. But if you dont believe in Mohhamed as a prophet who talked to an angel then there is no way to interpret his actions in a positive way, none at all. It depends, they are a growing migrant group, so it’s natural that if they move to non majority Muslim countries people there are entitled to an opinion. @FASAMI12 I dont live in America but Muslims arent a Majority in America - if Americans who arent Muslims find that Islamic migrants and Muslims dont agree with the majority American culture, seek to change it or expect it to change for them while not adapting to it - then yes Americans who arent Muslims should speak about it and do something about it. There is more to America than just Religion and Muslims need to respect that instead of just expecting respect to be a one way street coming to them

@FASAMI12 If what Muslims think are "their rights" are things that directly contradict the rights given under American law then yes they can either say change it or dont come . For instance many french Muslims believe it should be totally forbidden to draw a cartoon of Mohammed or mock religions in any way - they see this as a Muslim "right" - but it isnt a French "right" and directly contradicts what the French see as their "right" to freedom of speech - you see the problem. The same is true in America - if Muslims do things they think should be "right" but others think are going against their "rights" then obviously the majority will win out as well it should. You seem to think I am against Muslims following their religion if it doesnt negatively impact others - Im not - but Im saying if it does (or people think it does) then if those others are the Majority of a country and if the country has always been closer to them culturally and in opinion - then the Muslims will have to give way to them and not the opposite way around. Just as the opposite would be true if people moved to Islamic countries then claimed it was their right to do things that contradicted the culture or laws of those countries. Personally I dont give a crap if Muslims wear the Hijab or not BUT there are other parts of their religion which I wouldnt want to become a part of my country.

If they truly feel it is bad for their society then that is the choice for them to make. Either way, they deserve the loudest voice on it. Do you suppose Muslims would let French people come to their countries and do whatever they wanted until their countries cultures was fundementally changed? No, so why would you think French men discussing the Hijab is wrong?

@elodididididie Many are born but are 2nd or 3rd generation. But they are a growing minority which demands society change for them. The reaction (not talking about the violence from the few maniacs) of the average Muslim to the cartoons shows that in many ways they have a fundemental difference of opinion and attitude as to how society should be compared to most french and western peoples, they truly do not seem to think that freedom of speech (even cartoons of religions) should be allowed. Should French people not discuss this? IAn know it might be in vogue these days for some like you to bash men - but the reality is that French men have done far far far more for France than Hijab wearing Muslim women ever have. So those Hijabi arent doing much either lol.

But their clothing isnt important- Christians dont believe that dressing in the styles of the times of the Bible will bring you closer to God. To them its just clothes and they have no religous meaning. It makes no difference to a Christian what Robes Jesus wore. Christianity doesnt and has never had a societal dress code like Islam (or Judaism or other religions). To Christians clothes are just clothes and styles come and go, they make no difference.
