@peterRobinson10101 if it makes you feel better to explain it that way🤦🏼♂️

It's all about supporting cheating. Lot's of people who know they are not the brightest can still appear smart by using their looks, charms, their parents social status and whatever. If you have the IQ on paper, this suddenly becomes a lot harder. Because the vast majority of the people is not very smart, they do everything to oppose such development.

@StealthTheUnknown I think "faith" just means we should trust the process that led to the Bible. Our lives are too short to figure it all out by ourselves and many things can't be undone, which makes the trial and error approach unviable. So we have faith that our ancestors only put into the Bible what they learned, after extensive evaluation and revisions, to generally work. We trust them even when it's not immediately obvious why it should work.

That's easy to claim after something succeeded. There are many who are touched by the idea that you can make up your own gender. It doesn't matter if it's real or stupid. It's rather if enough people think it serves an emotional need.

@peterRobinson10101 You need a brain that is able to work more irrationally than normal to get that experience or a bunch of mushrooms. It's unrelated to God.

That can't be. We just spent all our money to centralize in the cloud🤔

The problem comes from the dumbed down definition of God. God has no agenda, God doesn't do anything. God is life itself. Jesus is a theory about how to live a meaningful life. Stuff that will cause you to suffer in the long run was categorized "bad". Jesus shows how to behave to minimize suffering. There is so much convoluted language to make religion appear supernatural, it's no surprise so many prefer Atheism.

Sounds like a promotion for some lame ass "investment" opportunity 🙄

I think being good at social interactions is more about not caring about the meaning of what someone says and rather about what emotions certain words invoke in other people. Brains aren't very good at processing lots of information but they are good at heurisics to reduce incoming information to a few bits. I think people good at social interactions just have better fitting heuristics for such situations. Also NTs are only good at social interactions with other NTs. I think Autistic people use less heuristics and try more to work with the actual incoming data.

@TheRealTrucido The coding of christian speech always put me off. I always feel like they never say something directly but always unnecessarily convoluted. What does it mean to say some Hail Marys? Probably some kind of meditation and becoming humble exercise. "through Christ" also very convoluted. Jesus is the ideal human being. Trying to be more like him will get you in heaven, which is again coded and used in weird ways like afterlife, but it just means being at peace with existence. Talking to religious people always feels like they are cult members, and they probably are otherwise they would question the incoherent stuff more.

@jamesh6650 Dr. Peterson seems to understand Christianity better than most (at least among the publicly outspoken). Still he refrains from answering whether he believes God exists and he is right about that. The problem is with how Christianity is taught. There is no God with an agenda or wants and "he" isn't even a he. God just is. How Christianity draws God is just off-putting for everyone who prefers to think for themselves. The error is not in the Bible, it's in how the Bible is taught.

To find that one flaw you somehow need to predict an indeterminate but large number of flaws. The difference I see is, that you can stop looking after you have found one flaw.
