  2. Isn't is common knowledge that desiring less makes you happier? I think the Scandinavian model is much more sustainable because it wastes less resources. A bigger house won't make you one iota happier once the house is big enough for your family to live in.

  3. I don't think that's even the purpose if prisons, especially in the US. It's just some visible sign for the rest of the population that something is done about criminals. In the US it's also, like everything, about making easy money out of the poor. I think Shawshank Redemption made a good point: I had to go to prison to become a crook.

My wife has celiac disease and restaurants and even alpine huts became much more aware of intolerances and allergies. 10 years ago most never had heard "celiac" or "gluten" and/or had never thought about what food contains wheat. Nowadays they often just hear celiac and recite a number of alternative side dishes or explain why a specific dish can't be prepared gluten free. Also lots of gluten free cookies come with dark chocolate while such are hard to find among "normal" assortement yummiee :D

  5. On the left there are no clear rules when they go too far. On the right it's clear. You didn't mention identity politics which plays onto the permanently offended and empowers them. Jordan Peterson, Bret Weinstein also provide good inside how this ideology breeds in US and Canadian universities.
