  1. Assuming without evidence that anything would be better without prohibition. Most people aren't very smart and need to be protected from themselves and people trying to influence and exploit them. Just because execution is flawed doesn't mean the idea is bad.

  2. @daviddavidson2357  There are things that are beneficial for health or whatever but with a certain risk that can be mitigated by training, experience, equipment, ... and then there are things only reckless people do without any benefit but high cost for the whole society. It makes sense for the government to intervene in the later.
