  1. The public school system seems to work well for the vast majority. It's just the smarter people, capable and willing to think for themselves are suffering. Everything is designed to accommodate the dumbest among us. I don't think this is dedigned by the people in power. It's the result of democracy where the mediocre and dumb make up the vast majority and therefore yield a lot of power.
