That's the first page in the course book for the drivers license in Austria. "Vertrauensgrunsatz" (principle of trust) If someone shows signs of not being fully capable of understanding what's going on, you need to take that into consideration, otherwise, in case of an accident, you can be found guilty of having contributed to the accident. To be safe assume the others are idiots, especially if they show unexpected behavior and take precautions.

@richardjcranium There would be so much complaining 😬

I use to call this "cattle mode". Thinking is difficult and many love to just take the "thinking results" of others they perceive as authority. I found myself incapable of entering "cattle mode" which made my whole life quite difficult because people who want to be perceived as authority hate people who don't switch to "cattle mode" in their presence. Now I'm convinced I'm autistic and this is what makes it impossible for me to enter this mode. I have no regrets though. A line that I always found funny and fitting is "Wo lassen sie denken" (where do you delegate your thinking to)

@Avianthro Sure, we depend on others to provide information and opinion, but we can chose to use diverse sources and draw our own conclusions. Nietzsche is great and I am more fascinated the more I learn about him.

What's wrong with that? Getting lots of people working together in a constructive way is more complicated than designing and building EVs. Also convincing others that investing their money in your ideas is a difficult task. Elon Musk showed that he couldn't just do it once, but multiple times. That's what made him a billionaire.

@jillmortlock8439 I find it funny how people who obviously aren't smart and never accomplish anything at all keep bashing Musk🤦🏼♂️

We would be so tired of their screaming

That was always this way. It just has become much easier for the dumb ones to flock together online and make themselves heard. Also in recent decades there was a strong movement to disallow any measurements of intelligence. Everyone needs to have equal opportunity when they leave university and strict measurement prevents that. This only led to more morons thinking of themselves as smart even though it was only their parents money that allowed them to attend university. Also elites are unwanted because it indicates some people have higher capabilities. A differentiation that is fought against, at least on the left.
