  1. Rather touchingly, when Queen Mary and Queen Elizabeth were returned to service, Cunard didn't replace the handrails on the grounds that a lot of the men who left their initials on the ship didn't live to make the return journey. Not sure if they did the same with the Mauretania and Aquitania.
