Nowhere in the developed world do firearm fatalities occur on such a high per capita basis than the US. The homicide rate is higher in African and South American countries, but not for ma ss casualty events. The government has been replacing around 40,000 dead citizens and children with legal immigrants every year, due to firearm violence

@nuked0d017 If violent people can only use melee weapons, most of their victims will be able to outrun them, most of them won't be able to cause carnage, there will be no stray bullets, the officers will be able take them down and the permanent physical damages could be minimized. More than 50% violent crimes are unsolved in the country, because the perpetrators can shoot from long distances without getting captured by cameras

@klausheisler5014 According to CDC, 46% were homicides and the rest were suicides/ self-defense/ police actions. Firearms also took more lives than saving them. According to the US' official firearm violence archive in 2020, malicious actions caused 19,411 fatalities and 39,492 injuries, whereas the defensive uses were just 1,478 cases
