Imagine if firearm ownership was heavily regulated and if the citizens were willing to reduce their "freedom" a little to abolish illegal weapons, as it is in other highly developed countries. The US would've been as safe as the UK, Canada, Australia, Japan, South Korea, etc. Children could walk and play outside without worrying about stray bullets

@tanya1353 Firearms make taking lives much easier because the perpetrator can do it from long distances without getting captured by cameras, as compared to melee weapons. Nearly half of all firearm homicides went unsolved in 2020 and the homicide clearance rate in the country has fallen to its lowest point in more than 50 years, according to analysis of FBI statistics

@tanya1353 My first comment is about the quickest solution to abolish illegal weapons and to prevent mentally-ill people/ ex-convict/ addicts from getting the legal ones, which might sound terrible to some citizens

@ltdc426 No, it's about better regulations as Switzerland has. As for illegal weapons, violent criminals stole the legal ones from pawnshops/ the owners and some of them bought it from unlicensed maker
