Sadly, the three juveniles will never fully pay for their victim's permanent physical/ financial/ mental damages and would likely take someone else's life once they get released. The barbaric extremities will never stop until the authorities start thinning out the violent herd and there should be at least one officer at each gas/ charging station

Armed robbery should warrant at least twenty years in prison or capital punishment if the victims get hurt and if it is clearly captured by a camera, because the perpetrators threaten to take the victims' lives. It's infuriating to see these atrocities in the most powerful country in the world. The barbaric extremities will never stop until the authorities start thinning out the violent herd

There should be no age privilege or discrimination for an attempted murder. Once someone decides to take other person's life or to permanently damage a person, he or she is old enough to take that decision

Hitting an old man with a hammer in the head is an attempted murder. Cameras are almost everywhere now, so lenient punishments don't make sense anymore. Unfortunately, the barbaric criminal will never fully pay for his victim's permanent physical and financial damages

It seems easy to do anything you want without consequences in the US
63
Yet some citizens complained about ShotSpotter system breaching their privacy. A city-wide CCTV program has been proposed in the country a long time ago, but people keep screaming privacy while having Instagram and TikTok pages. Philly’s old "Stop & Frisk" has also been outlawed

Many people in the country aren't ashamed of being violent/ crooked and want to be feared. When you have generations that are growing up with no respect for authority and being encouraged to "express themselves" without morals or fear of reprisal, then you have anarchy
48
If they dare to do it to a cop, let alone you. The country had fallen into such a state of lawlessness, that citizens had to arm themselves because there were no police to protect them. The social contract seems to have been broken to such an extent, that the state is no longer able to keep the streets safe
41
The store managers or cashiers should check their credit card readers frequently and the credit card providers should make a system to prevent this

I think many people in the country have child-like mentality, emotion and intelligence, because of the unaffordable higher education. No wonder they always try to make a situation when getting apprehended by the officers, to sue the police department
22
If they could do it to an officer, imagine what they could do to you. The barbaric extremities will never stop until the authorities start thinning out the violent herd

Imagine if firearm ownership was heavily regulated and if the citizens were willing to reduce their "freedom" a little to abolish illegal weapons, as it is in other highly developed countries. The US would've been as safe as the UK, Canada, Australia, Japan, South Korea, etc. Children could walk and play outside in big cities without worrying about stray bullets

@mattnewhouse1781 Agreed. Removing financial assistance for single mothers can also prevent fatherless children

Force the thief to work in prison, to pay for the damage

The US is a firearm-infested country whose citizens cling to their long-ranged weapons and have very low respect for authorities, so the quickest solutions to clean it up are public executions with Marie Antoinette's style, national guard snipers in big cities and/ or neighborhood watch groups that are allowed to use lethal forces

No description is a clear description nowadays
12
I bet he'd get released after a few months since nobody died and he'd never fully pay for his victims' permanent financial/ physical damages. Weak laws/ sentencing/ punishments, lawyers and defunding crowds have been ruining the once-great country
11
Two teens, huh? No description is a clear description nowadays. They knew exactly what they did to hurt the poor hardworking old man, so they should be punished as adults and fully pay for their victim's permanent physical/ financial damages

Philly looks like Somalia nowadays
10
It's most likely robbery gone bad. Teens have no morals these days
9
Life is so cheap in the country and the young people are proud to be feared. The punishments are too lenient and the firearms in the US are highly accessible to poor/ short-tempered/ violent people, unlike the other developed countries
8
@Lexwell_Lavers Better make them do hard labor in prison until they fully pay their victim's financial damage, so they can also learn how to work hard as blue-collar workers do. In Finland, the inmates study and work in IT field from prison to contribute financially to their country

There were 44,213 firearm-related casualties in 2022. The US government has to replace those citizens and children with around 55,000 legal immigrants who weren't raised with the US' ideology and education, through Diversity Visa (DV) Lottery program each year
6
If more firearms made us safer, then Texas should've been the safest place in the world. Remember about the liquor store clerk who died following a shootout during an armed robbery in Visalia on June 11, 2023
6
If they dare to do it to officers, let alone you. If the officers roughened them up, the defunding crowds would've gathered to protest
6
Police could use that information to investigate the Spanish-speaking community in Philly

Can't even order food safely these days. Last month a man was brutally robbed when ordering at McDonald's in Manhattan

Didn't know a leaping deer could be that powerful

It's safer to stay in the Philippines
5
Maybe he has children to feed? If he died in the war, nobody would take care of his children
5
Anthony Ellis I wish they get taken down quickly in prison, so they won't waste taxpayers' money
5
It's always the Germans
4
Yes, but there were only eleven executions in the whole country last year and all were done behind closed doors. Weak laws/ sentencing/ punishments, lawyers and defunding crowds have been ruining the once-great country
