It seems easy to steal a car in the US
2
What'd ya expect from Philly
2
It's just rampant in the Wild West, where the punishments are lenient and firearms are extremely accessible as compared to other developed/ big countries
1
@stupidliderals4662 The long-term solutions are letting the population shrink naturally and making high quality college education free, whereas the quickest solutions are the drastic control measures in my first comment
1
All store managers must be allowed to dispatch the robbers and anybody who threatens to kill or injure the employees/ customers
1
@raraparuka I'm sure of it
1
What if violent criminals take the armed guard first to steal the weapon? What if the stray bullets from the assault rifles pierce the customers or bystanders? Violent criminals stole legal weapons from pawnshops/ the owners and some of them bought it from unlicensed makers. Extreme accessibility of firearms in the US is a double-edged sword and it's like a chicken & egg situation, because weapon thefts are rampant
1
The country had fallen into such a state of lawlessness, that citizens had to arm themselves because there were no police to protect them. The social contract seems to have been broken to such an extent, that the state is no longer able to keep the streets safe
1
Just another day in Philly. The violent man would likely produce violent children and the circle will never end
1
Could someone please tell me how to spot the device? Because I can't see the difference
1
@DUCKSAREEVILLLLLLLL England has similar demographics, yet most violent people in that country can't cause carnages because they can't steal firearms from pawnshops/ stores/ [chuting] range/ the owners and can't bought it from unlicensed makers. Based on the latest statistics from Federal Bureau of Prisons, 57.6% of inmates in the US are [Wyatt] and 38.4% are [Blake]
1
@DUCKSAREEVILLLLLLLL The crazy lunatic could also easily get a firearm. Violent criminals in other developed countries could hardly get illegal weapons because there is almost no legal weapons to steal and look how their authorities have been dealing with it for many decades. The US isn't a unique case
1
@bulkbogan4320 Confiscating and banning firearms will lower violent crime fatality rate

Bravo!

@ancapgrandscribe9546 No
1
@ancapgrandscribe9546 Historically, the representatives from both parties couldn't do much because of the weak laws, the lawyers and the human-rights activists in the country. I will only vote for whoever will bring public executions back on the streets and on live TV
1

1
Cameras are almost everywhere now to clearly prove violent crimes, so lenient punishments such as life sentences don't make sense anymore. The barbaric extremities will never stop until the authorities start thinning out the violent herd
1
Violent criminals stole the legal weapons from pawnshops/ the owners and some of them bought it from unlicensed maker. The quickest solutions to clean a firearm-infested country are banning all forms of homemade firearm making, conducting federal internet surveillance to identify illegal transactions and doing routine inspections on the roads to confiscate illegal weapons

Philly is a worse war zone. Around 40,000 citizens and children die every year because of firearm violence in the US and I suspect more than 10% happened in Philly
1
@_celestial_8752 The government allows people to buy firearms from unlicensed sellers and at gun shows, as if they want the poor people to purge each other. If the authorities were serious in eradicating the firearm violence, they should've been routinely conducting firearm inspections in neighborhoods
1
The US is a firearm-infested country whose citizens cling to their long-ranged weapons and have very low respect for authorities, so the quickest solutions to clean it up are frequent public executions with Marie Antoinette's style, national guard snipers in big cities and/ or neighborhood watch groups that are allowed to use lethal forces
1
Those mentally sick kids would likely grow up to injure, cripple and kill people, thanks to the bad parenting and environment
1
Philly looks like Somalia nowadays. The quickest solutions to clean a firearm-infested country are banning all forms of homemade firearm making, conducting federal internet surveillance to identify illegal transactions and doing routine inspections on the roads to confiscate illegal weapons
1
It'd be useless if you get shot in the back
1
Once firearms and ammo become illegal, the price of the black-market ones will skyrocket. This will make average criminals unable to afford them and not to mention the ones who have no clue where to buy them. Look how the stricter regulations have been working well in other developed countries for many decades
1
The victim is in stable condition, but did he get paralyzed or permanent physical damages? Vote for whoever will bring frequent public x-[cute]-ions back on the streets and live TV

@littlewing5682 Frank R James and Payton Gendron were law-abiding citizen who carried for self-defense, before they snapped. Switzerland's crime rate was similar to the US' in the 90s and there were few tragedies, before their government heavily regulated the use of firearms
1
@danielfritz6806 Agreed, but high firearm accessibility to untrained, poor, short-tempered and violent people has made it much worse. There is also no federal internet surveillance to stop homemade firearm making and no frequent inspections on the streets to confiscate illegal weapons either
1
@robertsloan9746 England has similar demographics, yet it's much safer than the US due to its low firearm accessibility
1
Arkadius England has similar demographics, yet it's much safer than the US due to its low firearm accessibility. China and Indonesia also have big population, yet their firearm-related casualties are far fewer than the US'
1
Arkadius Switzerland's crime rate was similar to the US' in the 90s and there were few tragedies, before their government heavily regulated the use of firearms. Brenton Tarrant couldn't take lives in his home country due to its highly restrictive regulations, so he went to New Zealand to do it
1
@robtucker6303 Unlike those countries, firearms in the US are highly accessible to untrained, mentally-ill, short-tempered and violent people
1
@originalkingalpha5116 Unfortunately, those countries don't give away 55,000 working visas to replace dead citizens and children every year due to firearm violence
1
The citizens are trigger-happy. There were 44,213 firearm-related casualties in 2022. The US government has to replace those citizens and children with around 55,000 legal immigrants who weren't raised with the US' ideology and education, through Diversity Visa (DV) Lottery program each year
1
@dorawhite9130 Violent crimes could be prevented with Stop & Frisk method, whereas a city-wide CCTV program will get the clear video evidence to punish the criminals
1
Maybe because he ate too many shawarmas
1
The whole country is an urban war zone. We could die at anytime because of stray bullets or violent assault from a stranger

1
Beware of organ harvesting syndicate. Many citizens need new organs in the country
1
Should just execute him on the spot when the officers find him. He will never fully pay for their victims' permanent financial and physical damages

If I were one of them, I would've headed back to Venezuela. Philly looks like Somalia nowadays
1
@CameronBrooks-ng2cf Maybe you're not an untrained, alcoholic, ex-convict or mentally-ill person, but firearms in the country are available like candies to be bought by those kinds of people and to be stolen by violent criminals
1
The driver stopped before hitting the poor old man, so it was most likely intentional. The plate number must've been captured clearly by a camera
1
The barbaric extremities will never stop until the authorities start thinning out the violent herd
1
@johno1544 Yeah, it was a very long leap
