  5. I've been to a colonial prison in Freemantle Perth. They are Draconian in every sense of the word. They were designed to intimidate, impose, harass, and inspired fear, they did all that and more. For the prisoners they fostered a hatred for all things government. Remember it was only starting out on statehood.
