  1. My granny had 15 children, 3 died young in infancy. She was married at 15. Her husbent died after the last child was concived. She was left to bring them up with only her mother to help. These were barefoot days winter and summer. The church did nothing to help, they only ever encouraged women to have more children. Not how to feed or cloth them. My father his brothers and sisters knew poverty..Most knew poverty up until the eighties and Nineties in Ireland. 🇮🇪

  2. To think these people fought and died for king and country. Before I go any further, I want to lay blame at the door of royality. They we're the worst culprits of starving their own people. In their hundreds of thousands they died of starvation in England, in their millions in Ireland they starved us.

  3. It's heart breaking to listen to the way these babies were treated. I blame all their suffering on the rich and royalty. They made poor people's lives a misery. This vindictive way of treating poor people rubbing their noses in the poverty they created for the poor. They made the poor turn in on themselves, treating children like slave's woman got a terrible life. Bad enough to sell their children and think nothing of it. Look at GB swearing in their king, from a family that has kept them down for millennia. People become acoustumed to abuse, it becomes ingrained in their psychological makeup. ✌️☘️

  5. I love these local history stories because of the unadulterated truths, warts and all. As a child we hadn't a lot like most, we were a big family like most were. First up best we dressed. We knew we hadn't much but nobody had much.When we were young our distraction from life came from the outdoors. Any chance we got we were gone like the wind especially school holidays. From morning to night we gone. There was nothing at home to keep us at home. A time of stagnation in our country, dead, everything was a shade of gray It set the tone for that time, it was miserable, just existing. We explored our city on foot or on made up bikes. If we managed to put one together from old part's. Our imagination filled in the bad stuff we had to contend with, we made do. We appreciated everything because we all had so little. We shared everything. I remember so much of my childhood, I believe it shapes us all for good or for bad. Going senile might not be so bad for me it will only bring me back to what I think of anyway. Like the music I listened to my parents music and my brothers and sisters music , I love all music and dancing . A bit of Frank, Sammy and Deno and the master of crowning Tony Bennett. I'll be in good Company, mine was from the King to Oasis. I'll have come full circle then. Such is life. Next time, I hope I'm posted to a peaceful planet with a bit more sun✌🏿✌🏻) , I'm in heaven .

  6. To see how poverty affects the whole person inside and out is pitiful and sad. I know the effects, I've been in some kind of poverty all my life. A person is robbed of so much in life because of poverty. Excluded from most institutions of note. Always competing never achieving while on the back foot. That even went down to the girl's, how can you compeat with lad's that have parents who have money. I hate that poverty brings out the worst in people from rich and poor alike. Equality for all. ✌️☘️

  7. Just wondering did Jack do anything for those people when he went back to his real life. The life those people had to endure was nothing short of hell itself monstress. This was done purposely to them. The five percent rich kept 95 percent in poverty and still do in their own sneeky way. The rich control everything. Until the day comes when humans stand up together and change the value of our labour. This living to work has to stop. Life is to short. Why should people have to work so many hours and miss out on so much in life. The rich are getting richer the poor are on their knees. Living to work to keep them in their luxury, madness ✊☘️.

  11. I can see many of my own habits and his aversion to staying in the one place or job for long. I got bored very quick when I was a lad. I worked in the rag trade, I hated it. My passion was driving then and still. It didn't matter what the machine was as long as it had a engine and wheels. Itchy feet. ✌️☘️

  15. I actually stayed in on for two day's in the 80s our of necessity. It was stepping back in time everything there was like it was from the 19th century men included. The place is still going but more modern.
