@richdobbs. Russia, paper tiger or not will not be rolled back and they know better than to start a ground war in Europe. They do not have the man power nor a military force to compete with NATO. All they have is the nuclear threat. Without the support of the US, a united Europe will not contend with a diminished Russia. It is not in their DNA. As for Sevastopol, once a peace treaty has been reached, what’s left of the Russian fleet will return. They are not going to abandon their only ice free port. Like I said, how else did you think this was going to end?

@ppir1. The Ukraine joining NATO? Wasn’t that the problem in the first place. Putin warned the US and the Ukraine years before their invasion, that was unacceptable. You can blame the US for promoting that membership as well as breaking a promise made after the fall of the Soviet Union not to expand NATO. America’s war economy fueled by its MIC just couldn’t resist. The US has blood on its hands.

I am no political scientist, but I did play the game Risk growing up. Russia will never relinquish the eastern provinces nor will it cede back the Crimean Peninsula. Their strategic significance as well as a no go for the Ukraine into NATO is non-negotiable. How else did you think this was going to end? PS If you think Russia will become emboldened after this win, think twice. Russia is now a paper tiger. Decades of Russian corruption within their military industrial complex has made it self evident that they are no match for NATO.

@ Really? Do you actually think they will give up what they fought and won? As for additional aggression, all they have left is the nuclear threat. They know better to start a land war in Europe and will settle for what they have already achieved. As for a united Europe going to war with a greatly diminished Russia, paper tiger or not, it’s not in their DNA.
