  1. mongolcopter But it is also featured the failure to regulate the banks and rebalance the economy, which meant the country was not prepared to deal with the financial crisis, as well as the failure to address like income inequality, the failure to build enough houses, the failure to move toward a living wage, and PFI. That is without even getting on to foreign policy. Blair's government certainly did a lot of good things, like on child poverty, sure start, gay rights, etc. Even Labour moderates agree with most of that assessment. So whether you think Blair was successful overall or not, we need to look at what we can do differently in order to address where we failed last time. So a move to the left to do that and an appreciation of what the Blair government did are not incompatible with one another.

  2. +mongolcopter So what you are worried about is the party moving to the left, which is down to the membership, not Momentum, which is just an organised group of left wing activists that havent really done much other than grassroots organisation at this point. Which in itself is not a bad thing, I have heard plenty of those on the right of the party talk about the need for it to become a mass movement once more, and that is the function that Momentum are mainly doing right now. You can worry about the left, but Momentum are not really causing that problem.
