I'd think that Nandy would probably end up backing Starmer if he ran, she played a key role in the Owen Smith campaign and she probably has more in common with Starmer than him, and he seems to want it far more than she does, so he will probably be the soft left candidate. As for Lewis, he had made attempts to bridge the divide with the trident thing in particular, but I am still not sure he has really endeared himself to most of the PLP. From what I have read, they were none too happy at the way in which he resigned from the frontbench. And bear in mind, he will probably need 15% of their nominations to get on the ballot. He won't come anywhere near that right now, he lacks a faction to back him. The soft left think he is too left wing, and the hard left think he is too accommodating. He might even struggle to get the nominations if they lowered it to 5%.

If there is another indyref, I look forward to watching the two sides of the debate make exactly the same points the other was making in the run up to the Brexit referendum.

Starmer is competent, but dull, and we had far too many dull leaders in recent years. I like Clive, but he seems like a bit of a loose cannon, so him leading the party could either go really well or really badly, plus he doesn't have the support of enough of the PLP to get on the ballot, which I worry about. Lisa Nandy would be my pick, but I don't think she wants it. For better or worse, Starmer will probably be the next leader.
