FFS... As a soldier decades ago, I was given NBC training, and have used that "B" training and basic survival/preperation/common-sense skills and knowledge to good measure weeks ago. My wife poo-pooed the idea, but I did it anyway. Now she has a different view and is asking me basic questions. I honestly have no sympathy for those that can't read the writing on the wall... At worst, by being prepared you end up with a full pantry and a bit of piece of mind.

@Suntear1 Best thing to do [IMHO]... Prepare on your own as best you can, say nothing to anyone, and don't let their ignorance/bias keep you from doing what you feel you should do to relieve your stress. Also, if this does go pear shaped, don't let them know you prepared... The Ant & the Grasshopper comes to mind. Panic is also infectious and being prepared mentally, physically, & materially is a fine way to inoculate against it.
