  1. In regards to 'high octane aviation fuel' (140+ octane). Such fuel existed in the 20s and 30s. It was used for aviation racing. Very little of it was produced annually. Hap Arnold (the CO of the USAAF) went to the fuel industry leaders and told them to ramp up production capacity of such fuel. And now the kicker. He did this in 1936. If you want peace, prepare for war.
