  1.  @rodwallace6237  Then they shouldn’t be used for IM injections other than say in an Epipen or similar designed to be used by civilians in an emergency.

  2.  @suvinetuul80  The nurse inserts the needle into the arm, withdraws the plunger a bit, waits for 5 seconds to see if any blood appears in the syringe. If not, then pushes plunger to inject. If yes, the nurse has inadvertently hit a blood vessel. In that case the nurse removes the needle from the patient, discards that syringe and dose, and starts over.
