Have done this multiple times over the years where I had to create another partition on a drive. Easy in 10, or 11 as I've had to either extend or create a partition recently, most notably for a 2nd internal SSD (SATA) for editing purposes. The days of separate drive for programs etc was more prevalent with mechanical drives. Not as needed with SSD drives as they are much faster and can do multiple reads/writes at once if needed be and do it quickly. All OS/programs and the default folders are on the C drive and it's an NVMe drive.
