  1. Actually Eric, you DO need that AC in the winter months. When in defrost mode, the AC is used to dry out the air in the cab to reduce fogging of windows etc. Essentially, it comes on automatically on most vehicles. Not always true on older vehicles, but since at least the 90's when the AC system became more integrated with the heating system, that became true on domestic makes.

  2.  @scottallberry  That also depends on where you live. In the Puget Sound area/PNW, many places get copious amounts of rain, so moisture is prevalent much of the time.

  3.  @melsjunk2645  Yep, and I have seen the evidence of that during wet weather here in western Washington during fall/winter where it often rains and some poor soul had all their windows fogged over as a result.
