Not sure where your getting that, I am looking at the MSI Pro Z790 MB and it has 4 NVME slots, one directly from the CPU, (they are all PCIE 4), PCIE 5.0 for the graphics card, a plethora of USB 2.0/3.0/3.1/3.2 and USB C, WiFi/BT connectivity etc. Oh, it has I think 6 SATA ports, but are shared by 2 of the NVME slots if not mistaken. Oh, this will hopefully run DDR5 and an i7 processor. The point is, if you stick with the Z790 chipset, you WILL get all the connectivity for mid to higher end PC builds, but not when you go with the B760-H770 chipsets.

  4.  @cjadams7434  If you read my comment more closely, I said the SATA connections are shared by 2, or 3 of the NVME slots, and only ONE of 4 slots is tied directly to the CPU (NO 1), the rest via the chilpset.

  5.  @valenrn8657  I know most Z790 MB's have Gen 5 NVME, but not the DRIVES themselves, most are at best, gen 4. The ONLY gen 5 lanes are dedicated to the graphics card, not the NVME. I was looking at a Gigabyte eleite that only had gen 5 for the PCIe slot, the NVME's were all gen 4. I later went with MSI for the MB due to how poorly they hand any RMA's, and they seem to be dealing with a lot of those also. Also, trying to keep the budget to no more than $1300 for the entire build, the MSI Z790 Pro is in the low 300 range, and is a full ATX board too.
