Once that's secure the Greens will start to blame NATO for war mongering and "discover" Nazis and false flags in Ukraine. It'll be easy enough with Bucha and the atrocities they will pull in Kherson. The test routine for this is having a Green minister propose the compromise on some other issue like the visas. So I do not share Alex's view that she is in any way incompetent, she's playing extreme hardball to get the exact result the Greens want: fossil minimized, renewables maxed, and rabid sovereigntist nationalists like Poland discredited.

  16. Elensky is counting on having naval defenses in place for Odessa Nazis. The populace there doesn't want to be invaded by land of course, a naval assault would not affect civilians nearly as much. So I do wonder if Russia has sleeper cells in Odessa ready to take revenge for the Odessa Trade Building, sabotage naval defenses. A decap strike to kill all Nazi officials could actually be sufficient if the main Nazi forces were moved out to Kherson and exterminated.
