  9. Elon wants uniform regulations for self driving vehicles and an end to subsidies for buying vehicles. They aren't needed. What's needed is a level playing field with China, high robust technical security standards with no central data collection by any car maker or country, and deep integration standards. If every car uses a standard swappable battery pack that also works in your house backup, and both have power over Ethernet lighting alarms and sensors, the cost of all of this goes down radically and North America can compete with China . Without that, it simply can't.
