  7. 13:00 gas prices are still less than half their peak prices of a few years ago. I doubt any "deindustrialization" or freezing to death happens due to prices. However shutting down all combustion vehicles plants down permanently in Europe is a wise move. These vehicles are obselete & lethal and maintaining existing ones would make more sense in all situations until they can be mass converted to EVs. In a supply chain crisis stop building junk. Even if they build EVs they can't finish due to battery supply, it's a better use of scarce energy & supplies right now than building combusto-carts.
