  2. We, the western world should keep out of this war. And about the attack with chemical weapons, i am really not sure which side did use it. There are three fighting parties in Syria. The government, the rebels and the Islamic terrorist. My gut feeling says, that the Islamic terrorist were the ones, that used the chemical weapons. We already know, they eat human hearts from dead soldiers and they crash into buildings with hijacked civil airplanes. It sounds logical that they use chemical w. too

  5. Exactly and you really need very big bombs in the 5 Mt ranges to get enough dust into high altitudes, so that it doesn't get washed out by rain which happens in lower altitudes. But all these big bombs are no more in the military stockpile. Today, they have usually more but much smaller bombs in the 300 kt to 1,2 Mt range. Not enough to reach high altitudes. All the dust would get washed out early which means no nuclear winter.
