  1. I am not happy about that: "Thank god we are past that" Today, lithium batteries are welded into the devices without the option of replacing them. I still make sure to get devices in which I can put AA or AAA standard batteries and then I use NiMH batteries with low self-discharge. The only important thing is that the devices can cope with the lower voltage of just 1.2 V of the NiMH batteries. Fortunately, my Xbox 360 wireless controller for the PC allows the use of NiMH AAA batteries. When they are empty, I always have replacement NiMH AAA batteries on hand so that I can continue using the device after changing them and don't have to charge it first.
