  1. I’m a Brit and I hate guns instinctively- they’re not part of our culture. Or didn’t used to be. But the older I get the more I understand the Americans on this. Yes it means more lunatics can do terrible things but who will we turn to if the government goes full authoritarian? Or criminals are roaming our streets Robocop style with guns and we don’t have any? Will you be ok when the drug gangs in London take over the whole country and we start to resemble Colombia? Or there’s a 3rd world war or other apocalypse? Or we live out in the sticks and there are no police for 100 miles? Wouldn’t you rather have a gun handy than not??? I would.
