jago xxx Bull. There are some rich western EU migrants this might be the case for but what makes you think the average eastern European, whom we get told are exploited for lower wages, live 10 to a house, send their money home instead of spending it in the UK, claim for child benefit for kids that don't even live here, how are they in that position? And don't even get me started on all the non English speaking immigrants from Pakistan and Bangladesh and elsewhere who bring over their massive families some with genetic defects which cost the NHS a lot of money to treat, the women don't work and the men claim for several wives. https://www.migrationwatchuk.org/key-topics/economics

Wow stop drinking the globalist Remainstream media Kool Aid. Brexit is a democratic choice. The fact that the establishment has become so deranged by the little people making the 'wrong' choice for them doesn't make it wrong or evil or stupid or anything else. I've no doubt you would NOT say the same thing if it were say the Ukraine, or Croatia or Greece. Because that would not be reported as a dangerous xenophobic fascist mistake that needs to be crushed, it would just be a decision made by a sovereign nation to be independent. Since when has being being in the EU political project become the only acceptable choice???

@Food4thought1234 I'm pro welfare state up to a point. It should never be better to be on welfare than it is to be in a job. If you can work you should. Therefore creating opportunity to improve your skills and work are the most important things a government can do NOT hiking welfare benefits to make people more comfortable. It's provision of minimum basic necessities, preferably temporarily, not a lifestyle choice.

jago xxx No. We don't mind foreigners at all. But the UK cannot sustain 500k net population growth every single year. If you want to know why some people may be struggling there's your answer. Oversupply of labour leads to lower wages and higher demand of housing leads to higher house prices. Double whammy.

These charities are businesses. It is in their interest for 'poverty' to not only exist but to continue, so they can claim vast handouts. When you look at how much charity money goes to the people and how much goes to marketing and fundraising (to pay for its marketing and fundraising) you see it's often a massive scam

@charlesyeo8252 Exactly....... The British public have voted on what they see with their own eyes not what the globalist Remainers tell them to see.
5
@saxglend9439 Yup, and where does it all go.. Interesting isn't it how the welfare bill gets bigger and bigger and bigger. N o matter how much money it gets it always wants more.

What rubbish. Neoliberalism is not the same as conservatism. Tony Blair is a neoliberal ffs.

jago xxx There you go. Unhinged. Take your medication and lie down mate. Get well soon.

jago xxx Most of those rich folks employ the middle class and the average man. The rich also account for over 50% of all tax receipts.
3
@Food4thought1234 And I could agree with that 👍 Thank you for being civil.

@nokturnalmortum4763 Please expand on this assertion because I think you're talking shite
2
@nokturnalmortum4763 But conservatism is also based around the nation state and national culture (not globalisation), borders, traditional values and individualism.

@HebrewsUK Wifi is free in many places including public libraries

My sympathy is starting to wane a bit I'm afraid. Not because of the people themselves but because of what I see as political opportunism, redefining what words like poverty mean and how many people live in 'poverty'. Real poverty is a kid in Africa scavenging a dump for scraps, no access to clean water, and dying of dysentery. Poverty in the UK has been reclassified as a % of the richest people's earnings and therefore poverty can never be eradicated as it is now relative. This makes a mockery of the term. The way we lived in the 70s, quite normal, and we managed just about, would be considered absolute poverty now which is ridiculous. There were no obese poor kids back then. There are now, in such numbers that there is a diabetes epidemic. Something has gone very wrong with parenting and education.

@samuelthornton9179 If you look at food prices relative to income food has never been cheaper than it is now. Healthy food, such as fruit and veg, is cheap. The bigger issue is probably time and inclination to cook them.
1
@samuelthornton9179 Oh and some parents are completely lazy, useless and have abdicated their responsibilities to the state.
1
@samuelthornton9179 UNICEF needs to justify its existence.
1
@samuelthornton9179 Duh Covid?? Do you think this isn't happening across Europe and the world right now? It is. At least there are food banks to help. I'd hate to be in this situation in India or Africa, get some perspective. And it doesn't change my point that the definitions of 'poverty' are warped when you measure poverty relatively. It also means that poverty can technically NEVER be eradicated which is dumb and it seems to be the only people profiting from that are charities. And they do profit.

@nokturnalmortum4763 modern conservative movements are not the save as conservatism. Just as modern day 'progresive' liberals are not actually liberals. Hijacking a word doesn't make some new meaning true, just as saying you're a woman when you're clearly a man doesn't make it true or change the meaning of what a woman is.

@DK-ij4qt Porton Down is the foremost expert on bioweapons etc.they were involved in identifying the novichok used on the Skripals Why wouldn't the government be closely involved?? Porton Down just sequenced the new Covid variant and we've shared that information with the world. You should be kissing their arses for that.

@stormblaster6781 You are NOT helping us, you're helping yourself. You're NOT contributing much if you are getting a council house and your 4 kids are using our schools etc. And though I honestly don't mind people coming to work the fact you even admit that 'a local has a better chance of getting a job' well a. that's how it should be and b. If they're getting the jobs and you're not and are relying on the council for housing, why are you here?
1
@stormblaster6781 You come here and help grow the economy.... Well that's great, I honestly don't have a negative view of that. But it does strike me that you sound as if you think you're doing us a favour, like you're here for our benefit. You're not. You're here for YOUR benefit otherwise you wouldn't have chosen to come here.

Azi ra How can it be a failure when it's barely even started? People like you are so hyped up by your hate you can't see anything else. Grow up.
1
Rubbish. You evidently know nothing about the British.
1
So is it better to vote as a wannabe pauper?
1
No they're not.

@sarahstrong7174 Did you do unskilled work while you applied for something better? Work in MacDonalds? Supermarket? Hotel? There's no excuse for not working.
