  2. I like Brendan O'Neill and agree with a lot of what he says. I don't agree with all his views but the point is he is free to air them and I am free to listen and make up my own mind. That's why I, as a generally pretty left wing liberal person, no longer associate with the left. Identity politics, groupthink and censorship are abhorrent to me and I find myself defending the so-called alt right nowadays because they appear to share more of my values!!! It's weird to feel that way. I'm not easily offended at all - Milo, Carl Benjamin and co aren't even on my radar of offensiveness. I find screeching, violent sjws and antifa obsessing over 'bad' words and identities, rather than actions or real equality, far more offensive.

We are very welcoming of people who want to live here, but they have to understand we want Britain to be Britain - not Somalia, Pakistan or Afghanistan or Romania. All those places have their own space and distinctiveness, which we can value and respect, but if you live in Britain you need to love this country and want to be British, to take on board our cultural norms, our values, our history, our strengths, flaws and idiosyncrasies. We are not prepared to give it up for you to extend the territory of your home country. No. No. No. DEMOGRAPHICS MATTER and cultures die if they are not actively fought for and preserved.

  37. Rishi Sunak I think is culturally British and - giving him the benefit of the doubt - shows loyalty to Britain. So I accept him as a British compatriot. I have no problem with him. He’s not English though. You have to be of Anglo Saxon/Celt/Viking/Norman stock (ie North Western European DNA) and your ancestors here for at least 4 generations to qualify for that, in my opinion. English is an ethnicity tied to geography and DNA. For example Donald Trump is actually ethnically of the British Isles. The USA is an anomaly to most places as it is a relatively recent creation. Give it a few hundred years and maybe American will too be a distinct ethnicity - or maybe not. Globalisation has upended millennia of human normality by confusing what it means to be of a national ethnicity and identity where change would happen either very very slowly through assimilation - or violently through war and conquest. It is disconcerting and causes civil unrest and the loss of high trust societies which have been built up over many generations. We STILL have tribal hatreds and resentments from conflicts hundreds if not thousands of years ago! Just look at the Middle East!! Even closer to home look at the victimhood narrative and prejudice between ‘the Irish’ and ‘the English’ when 99% of the English had feck all to do with any of it!! Yet we’re all collectively to blame somehow. It’s also funny how the Left claims to love ‘diversity’ while actively attempting to destroy it and create a beige featureless global melange of leftist automatons.

They often had very good understanding of the plight of poor people and worked to alleviate it. Societies only work if they have a cohesive identity and the different parts have a balance of rights AND responsibilities. Equity was the theme of this years IWD and it was at work everywhere with loads of people enthusiastically posting their virtue on company socials. People do not really understand what equity means they think it sounds great. A letter challenging the trans agenda recently (gender critical beliefs) was told they must respect a persons pronouns *or it is a disciplinary offence.*. This is very sinister. The top priorities for the D&I team are equity of BAME employees, trans rights and more benefits for working parents (basically if you don’t have kids you’re expected to pick up the slack and get even fewer benefits than if you do). All of these have a central message that if you are straight and white (being female isn’t as big a card anymore) you can be expected to be passed over for promotion and jobs because equity requires that you are automatically less desirable a candidate. We have ‘networks’ for protected characteristics too in our company and they’re like little echo chambers of radicalisation. It’s getting worse and worse. I work for a well known retailer and I would leave if I could but as a white 50+ straight gender critical female I would see my prospects elsewhere to be just as bleak

Society had become perhaps too rigid. But the cult of the self has gone too far the other way. More 'Disneyland Dads', Mums not at home, parents wanting to be friends rather than parents, 'boundaries are bad', massive increases in disposable income and consumerism, outsourcing responsibility to 'the government', 'I know my rights' rather than 'I know my responsibilities', 'celebrity' becoming a career aspiration. We'd been told that leaving was racist, fascist, a little Englander mentality going against the Brave New World of globalised capitalism and open borders, it was going to crush us economically, that it would be apocalyptic. The people voted out anyway. Freedom and self determination is always worth it. But I said then "they won't let it happen". Because to Remain is the choice of the elites, the bankers, the oligarchs and the metropolitan chattering classes, they are so self righteous in their 'wokeness' they can't conceive that ordinary people just want to be British and go their own way. They will not let it happen. Just like they didn't let it happen in France, Holland and Ireland. However a vote to Remain could also have been interpreted by the govt and EU as a mandate for more Europe and more federalisation which I definitely DIDN'T want.. I wanted a soft Remain not a hard Remain. If the choice had been between Remain to join the Euro and Schengen and become part of the United States of Europe or Leave on WTO terms I would have voted Leave. Now though, after 3 years, I've realised what an idiot I was and would vote LEAVE. The harder the better. The EU is what it is and can't be reformed. We have to get out now while we still can.

Because that's far more important than anything else. I find it strange the urgency about this, because it implies the company is so awful and racist that such jobs are essential. The company is not. They have based their failures on stats that say the average BAME person isn't paid exactly the same as the average non BAME person. There's no nuance, it's just because of institutional racism. In Germany I think you have to have generational ties to be a citizen and it gives you additional rights, we should do the same. Giving out passports and residencies like sweets is a bad idea. Temporary visas far better, they can be reversed. No birth tourism or family chain migration. And if we actually do want to be green, 3 to 7 billion population growth in 50 years is a massive elephant in the room. Mass immigration is a Ponzi scheme nothing more, we have to go back to when we were more self sufficient as a nation and as individuals and to stop ourselves getting swamped by climate 'refugees' a big eff off Army, maybe with national service to build discipline and skills amongst young people, should help.

I became quite militant, probably said the word 'patriarchy' 10 times a day, because at that time my feeling that life wasn't fair (for women particularly) found expression in the language of oppressed and oppressors. It contained some grain of truth but since then my views have evolved (I grew up) I discarded the black and white bluntness of that ideology because I've realised it fundamentally clashes with my core values of free speech and individual rights. Now I just try to pick my way through the uncertainty and grey areas of life, without dogma and attempting to see nuance. I have been horrified by what I see on campuses today, how what I experienced has been amplified and metastasised into the mainstream. As Christopher Hitchens would say 'the values of the Enlightenment' must be fought for, we cannot take them for granted.

  441. Yes so true. I went to uni in the early 90s and it was already a hotbed of Marxist-Feminist groupthink. I became quite militant, probably said the word 'patriarchy' 10 times a day, because at that time my feeling that life wasn't fair (for women particularly) found expression in the language of oppressed and oppressors. It contained some grain of truth but since then my views have evolved (I grew up) I discarded the black and white bluntness of that ideology because I've realised it fundamentally clashes with my core values of free speech and individual rights. Now I just try to pick my way through the uncertainty and grey areas of life, without dogma and attempting to see nuance. I have been horrified by what I see on campuses today, how what I experienced has been amplified and metastasised into the mainstream. As Christopher Hitchens would say 'the values of the Enlightenment' must be fought for, we cannot take them for granted.

  444. Alphabet people have equal rights and additional privileges. They are not persecuted or oppressed. The police should apply the law equally and without prejudice. There is zero need for the police to go out if they’re way to support alphabet people because if they’re doing their job they should get treated equally. Police should not be political and should not favour one group over another. The politicisation of the police and turning them into social justice warriors and activists is not just unnecessary it’s divisive and goes against everything the police should stand for

Close the borders NOW and remove - criminals - illegals - visa overstayers - any non citizen who claims benefits - any non citizen who doesn’t pay tax - anyone on a terror watchlist We should also remove the right to dual citizenship from selected countries (Make Being Discriminating Great Again) We should favour immigration, trade and cooperation from the Anglosphere Anyone entering the country illegally should go straight to a detention centre not allowed to walk around freely until THEY prove who they are and why they deserve asylum. Which they won’t be able to do easily if they’ve come from France. They have 1 month max to do this then they’re on a plane back to their own country or the nearest safe adjacent country. Real asylum seekers have this info and don’t chuck their ID overboard. Asylum/refugee status should be considered temporary and what qualifies narrowed significantly. Any ‘asylum seeker’ who abuses our hospitality in any way has their asylum status rescinded without appeal and refused re-entry to the country permanently. I would also ban legal immigration from Islamic countries and ban sharia, halal, mosques, madrassas, burqas in the UK. Yes I would be that draconian.

I watched Mayhar Tousis livestream from the Cenotsph and it was very clear Tommy and the others were there to protect it, be respectful and peaceful but to defend the Cenotaph if any Islamists dared try anything. They did NOTHING wrong and I suspect as always the police were told to kettle them and cause trouble deliberately to get a media photo opp
