  1. I personally wouldn't scrap it. I'd make an amount of taxpayers money available to the BBC for gold standard objective news and current affairs, school support/kids content, basic radio channels, iplayer for a retro content library, and the BBC news online site. Then, a subscription based BBC which sells its content globally and commercially and funds itself. BBC non commercial can subsidise BBC commercial to make any public service programming it deems necessary such as arts, natural history, documentaries that can make a profit then share the profit with its 'investor'
