  2. I think these new engines are compliance engines. On paper they emit few pollutants even if fuel economy may only be marginally better. People who buy Toyotas don’t care. They want something reliable. Toyota’s reputation will sell these. Looks and performance are really secondary. It sure doesn’t look pretty though in or out.

  3. I think where Toyota has to be careful, is that really all important reputation for reliability may be jeopardized by these newish turbo engines.
