  1. Yeah Schumer is simply being silly. You can’t legislate a market. Electrics take over when they can be charged as quick as filling cars with gas and are priced competitively. Till then it’s a niche market as a second vehicle or for in town use. Recently I went on a cruise to Alaska. Starting port city was Seattle and ended in Vancouver. Almost all the taxis are Prius in those cities. Here on the east coast mandating hybrids for taxis can help as a evolutionary step towards greener pastures. Till then politicians need to push for higher EPA figures and not necessarily electrics. Without government mandates, hybrids would not exist.
