I think it depends on the person.
My younger sister and I are completely different.
I used to have 2 close friends who I shared hobbies like comics, gaming, anime, etc.
Our friendship started in an arcade house when I was 18 years old and they were 16 years old.
It ended when I was 31 years old.
One of them had developed feelings for my younger sister, and it was starting to make her unconformable. The 2 friends were best friends when I met them. So stopping to talk with one meant stopping to talk with the other.
I hang out with my younger sister friends after that, for a couple of years. They shared the same passions as I did. But after I turned 37 years old and came to the UK, I don't feel the need to have friends anymore.
My mother and younger sister are the company I need when I go to Portugal to spend holidays.
I don't have social media as I dislike it.
The only type of social media I have is: World of Warcraft. I loggin to the game, provided me with players to play with, and that's all I want.
For chatting, I have my co-workers.
My younger sister, on the other hand, loves social media and hanging out with friends and people she meets everywhere. She loves to be surrounded by people.
I'm 48 years old, my younger sister is 38 years old, and we are both single with no intentions of getting married.
