Years ago, I was chatting with an English elderly co-worker, he told me he met a Nigerian fellow, he had like 8 to 9 kids.
He asked to the Nigerian fellow, why he had so many kids.
He replied with: "There's nothing else to do."
We laughed and we talked about how much more entertainment England had, like football, parks, video games, traveling, etc. So many ways of enjoying life.
There was a documentary from Brasil.
In the document a Brazilian poor family was interviewed.
The husband was a sugar cane worker.
He had 4-5 children. His wife was pregnant.
She was 25 years old.
She told, she ran away from home and if she knew what was going to happen, she wouldn't have done it.
In poor countries, people are still having kids.
People in developed countries could do the same, but they want a better life thus they don't want to have kids or just 1-2.
I believe that television and internet are making people grow further apart.
Decades ago, there was already an ongoing debate about people wasting too much time in front of the television. The joke about the fat guy, sitting in the couch, drinking beer, eating pizza, while watching television.
Now, with the internet and smartphones, people can stand next to each other and nothing happens, because they are busy looking af their smartphones.
I believe in order to make people interact with each other, (because it's from interaction socialising happens, which than leads to guys meeting women and dating happening), the internet and if we want to go further, television needs to be removed.
Brainwashing, bad ideas, bad influence (TikToks for example) won't be spreading, as easily, without the internet.
This will never happen.
People want to live in more advanced countries, with better quality of life, more technology, not less.
When a country starts to be more technological advanced , people start getting more educated, more ambitious, marriages start being left for a later stage in life and the number of babies being born, starts shrinking.
I would say, you can't have a technological advanced country, with all it's benefits brought by technology, without the repercussions of it.
For example: my father was 4th grade, my mother was 6th grade. They had 2 kids.
I have 12 years of school and 10 years of university: single at 47 years old.
My younger sister is graduated and she's still studing in other fields: single at 37 years old.
My cousin, is graduated, works as a bank manager: single at around my age.
My female co-worker (secretary) and her late husband (IT technician) had more studies than my mother and father. They had 1 kid.
Their daughter is graduated, wants to change careers: single, she's on her 40s.
An elderly doctor, that owns a clinic near my house, has a daughter. She's graduated as nurse, 47 years old, single.
My generation had a better quality of life and studies than my parents generation. Most of us are single.
