I think this story may be similar to the story of Celine Dion and René Angélil. It may happen that a younger woman falls in love with an older man. It's a win-win situation for her because:
- She still gets married and can get children from the older man.
- If he has resources, she inherits them after his death, unless he's like deceased portuguese actor Camilo Oliveira that left nothing to his widow Paula Marcelo. Despite living with her for 35 years, they were never married as he was still married to his first wife, Maria Luísa Reis Oliveira.
- After the husband dies, the wife is still respected as a widow. Paula Marcelo married in 2019 with her long life friend Jorge Lopes.
To answer Legion of Men question: I wouldn't want my daughter to marry an older guy who had my age. However, worse things may happen: like the co-worker of my mother. His daughter married a guy, and he didn't approve. He has 4 kids with her and runs away. She ended up in the hospital with a nervous breakdown, and the poor father had now to take care of the 4 kids.
He told my mother: "1 left the house, 5 came back."
There's no reward for being a modern woman and living a life of partying, drinking, hookups, except cat and wine.
I believe that for each Western man who marries overseas or quits dating, one Western woman will die alone. The Western countries will be a burial ground for thousands if not millions of single old women in the upcoming decades.
