  1. One of the best things about the English language is the meaning and nuances change over time. It’s not “owned” by anyone. Woke meant something else prior to the appropriation of the term. Maybe don’t use short slang to express complex social and political problems as it’s easy to weaponise, and the bigots are constantly doing this.
