  1. Nice cherry picking of data to suit a narrative. In 2020 we suffered a much bigger hit to GDP many EU countries. While our percentage of GDP growth was larger in 2021, we were further behind form the precovid starting point as we had more growth to do. 2022 was a better year, helped significantly buy stockpiling of gas by the EU purchased from the UK but we are still not at pre covid levels whilst other nations are. You can’t just pull out a figure and say this number looks good. You need to look at context. The bottom line is we are behind, and the whole system is reinforcing this with isolationist thinking.
