  2.  @hellonearth-thehistoryofwa1270  it is a weak argument, they don’t bring in much tourism compared to similar sites in other countries. In total all royal sites in the country combined brought 3.2 million visitors in 2019/2020 compared to the palace of Versailles (7 to 15 million per year depending on source). That’s one attraction in France brings in more tourists. These are pre covid numbers as obviously tourism numbers slumped the last two years. So there seems to be a case for emptying royal palaces of royals would be good for tourism. They can stay open all year then. But to be honest, it’s more a moral question. Are all men created equal? Are we a modern democracy? Are we a meritocracy?

They still own significant holdings as the person of the crown including the sea bed for 12 nautical miles around the shore. So I doubt they would notice.

  10.  @vercingetorixwulf9298  I had a quick search and couldn’t find evidence of that. All I can find is “Historic Royal Palaces is the self-funding charity that cares for the Tower of London.” Which was my understanding. Do you have a link for additional information?

  12.  @tonyves  as a lefty (which you seem to see as an insult), I don’t think you can argue the queen was either misogynistic or not. She doesn’t seem to have ever made a public statement on the issue. I doubt the racist part too. I haven’t seen evidence of this. However she was certainly very classist, who believed in the social order, and the position of high and low born people. Therefore very much a bigot. The use of the other two terms maybe be misidentified as this.
