as a Russia's citizen I can say soviet economy was reeeeeeealy bad. This economy is the reason of the country's collapse if you didn't know. Read "the death of the empire" by Egor Gaidar. This is the guy who had stopped the 80-90s crisis

@arthurmorgan1550 the ussr had collapsed because of the planned economy and the collapse followed by hundreds of anti comunist rallies. Don't write about history when you don't know it.

@Redsky973 1 - the ussr was a poor country during all of its existence, learn the topic and don't spread foolish nonsense. 2 - the russian empire was one of the richest and strongest countries in the world and experts predicted it to become the richest country. Learn the topic, disgusting rusophobe. You prate absolute non historical trash about the russian empire and don't even flinch. Disgusting. 3 - comunists returned slavery when they sized power. People lived disgustingly poor until the very 1991. Until 50s they died from starvation. People who were allowed abroad literally fainted from the luxury they saw. 4 - my relatives moved in another oblast(state) just to buy sausages. And it should be a special day when they had sausages there at all and they had to stay several hours in a queue for it. They couldn't buy buckwheat, stores just didn't have it. Once my mother was sent to buy bread and she stayed in a queue for so long her parents though she was kidnapped. Just some examples of crying misery of one's life the ussr. Don't fucking write anything about the scoop halfwit. You know nothing about it. You prate things that didn't exist in the history! Look at Brasil you mentioned, make it 2 times worse and you will see how the scoop looked like. Sure you haven't read anything about it, you haven't talked to anyone who lived there, LIVED there, not was 5 when the country stopped to exist, you just blurt wild nonsense from american propaganda brain dissolving trash videos and repeat after them. @jakekaywell5972 yes, the scoop was famous for its super poor quality of products, learn the history and don't prate nonsense. You know one(really important) of the reasons that made this trash country collapse? It couldn't feed its people. So if you can't feed your people just buy food abroad and the scoop did. But if you want to buy food abroad you have to pay with dollars(for example). And where do you get them? You need to sell something! And the history tells us the scoop had nothing to sell except for oil, gas and other raw materials. Its cars, its electronics, its processed materials etc were of REALLY POOR quality no one wanted to buy them! This is the real argument. Not "I have some commie watch and they are good. I say so. With only my experience. With only couple of watches" but rough fact. The scoop had dire need of money and it had nothing to sell to get it. Rough fact that clearly supports my statement. The scoop, as you know, has collapsed. It just couldn't feed its people and couldn't do anything about it, because of the fact I said.

@brianjacobs2748 it wasn't at all. The ussr started to collapse in 80s and the reason of it was the planned economy. Don't show the consequences of the crisis as an independent events. And have you even read what you sent? Commies committed a coup in their mad attempt to seize power, again. And the people threw these pigs away. Bad commies, good people. As usual.

I agree the history of the scoop is taught wrong. Because it's taught that allegedly it was a good country when it absolutely wasn't. There are too much lies in school that blanch this piece of garbage and this is really bad. commies almost try(unfortunately successfully) to throw away anything from the school program that has even a hint on the fact that the scoop was awful. They really made teachers to shut up about the fact there were repressions in 30s! If you tell about them you go to prison. It was in TV.

The ussr didn't have CHEAP cars. They were expensive and you should stay ~2 years in the queue before you can buy a car. Just learn about the topic before you say your opinion about it. You don't compare cheap ussr's cars to expensive usa's cars. You compare expensive ussr's cars to ok cost usa's cars. Cars in the ussr weren't cheap for its citizens and even if you have the money you still must stay in a queue for the right to buy it.

and I don't know the lada your dad had but everyone in Russia knows how they suck(like everything from the scoop/Russia). Ask every lada owner and he would tell you it's just a bucket of bolts. Buy one for yourself I really want it.
