You paid for it under Trump too.
7
Then pass the Senate border bill.
6
It was happening under Trump too, it's the law.

With title 42 gone we will be able to enforce our immigration laws to the fullest. Title 42 has no legal deterrent or penalties and is not an immigration law. It does side step those title 8 laws and why the Right wants to use it to undermine asylum, but that also removes the ability to enforce deterrents in title 8.
5
Title 42 suspends all title 8 laws and authority use to deter and penalize illegal border crossing. The Right is using it to undermine legal asylum under 8 US code 1158. It also suspends 8 US code 1325; the misdemeanor that carries a civil penalty for crossing the border illegally. And 8 US code 1326; stiffer penalties for crossing the border. That leaves out any legal penalty or deterrent for those crossing and stops legal asylum, with few exceptions under title 42. Makes it difficult to enforce immigration laws when Republicans are fighting in court to undermine our legal enforcement. With title 42 suspending enforcement that means many immigrants recross multiple times causing apprehension numbers to be inflated. The current rate of multiple returns is about 40% of border crossers. We had a 17 year decline in southern border crossing to the lowest point in 50 years prior to Trump and his polices. By 2019 Trumps policies doubled the number of people crossing the southern border to 977,000 a 20 year high. He only saw a reduction for the first 9 months of 2020 due to covid, before it went back to a 20 year monthly high in October of 2020. It has remained a 20 year high and increasing ever since under Trumps failed policies and Title 42.

LOL he is a good option for Trump supporters who believe Trump is too much ...Trump.

@dangeroreilly2028 Lets not confuse what you think is going on with reality. Learn our laws before you claim they are illegal.
5
@LoveyK Don't forget social security taxes that they don't benefit from, and they get no representation for the taxes they pay. :)
5
The border is secure. Try learning our immigration laws and the process.
5
For what following us laws that you don't like or understand?
5
No they don't do that for any of them that was a made up story.
4
No they are not.

Why would the sheriff have an opperational plan on immigration is not his job. Title 42 is not an immigration tool.
4
@dangeroreilly2028 No I'm saying the Right is clueless of those laws and don't know the difference between who is coming illegally and who is coming legally. We have asylum laws that means that they can cross between check points and request asylum. That is legal.
4
Yes because it's been going on since Trump.
4
and that is what is happening.
4
Because they have no legal jurisdiction to stop them.
4
Just opened up the ability to deny service to any protected class.
3
Must be nice to make up your own facts to believe.
3
Asylum seekers can enter at any point and request Asylum. There is no applying for it in another country.
3
Did you want him to personally apprehend them?

§1158. Asylum (a) Authority to apply for asylum (1) In general Any alien who is physically present in the United States or who arrives in the United States (whether or not at a designated port of arrival and including an alien who is brought to the United States after having been interdicted in international or United States waters), irrespective of such alien's status, may apply for asylum in accordance with this section or, where applicable, section 1225(b) of this title.

@pureamerican100 It would be easier if the Right would just show some compassion and learn wtf is going on. You do know that just because they are here in the US doesn't mean they are not in deportation proceedings. There is a process and if the right would bother to learn and follow that process we wouldn't have any issues.

3
LOL so you're not liking the idea, because it would help to increase the validity of asylum claims. Good moral argument.
3
And we need several more of those facilities.
3
Ugh Trumps hard line immigration policies in an attempt to end legal asylum.... Do I need to say more?
3
So do republicans.
3
Yeah it's the law, try learning it.
3
They already have. Title 42 suspends all title 8 laws and authority. The Right is using it to once again undermine legal asylum, 8 US code 1158. It also suspends 8 US code 1325; the misdemeanor that carries a civil penalty for crossing the border. And 8 US code 1326; stiffer penalties for crossing the border. That leaves out any legal penalty or deterrent for those crossing. All we can do is deport, and many re-cross again with no penalty in place. That causes our apprehension numbers to be inflated and the get away numbers to be inflated....

@bellie8009 We are by supporting our immigration laws and calling out the Right for their ignorance and hate.
2
So the process is working and nothing to report, got it.
2
requiring the Department of Homeland Security to temporarily "shut down" the frontier to most migrants if there are an average of more than 5,000 crossing attempts per day over seven days. Stop claiming it's 5000 a day 365 days a year that's a lie.
2
Sounds about right.
2
The natiinal guard should not be there at all.
2
It was in decline before Trump and his policies.
2
2:40 yes the app is working and yes they are coming in under our asylum laws that have been in place for over 40 years.
2
waste of time just standing there doing nothing as they have no authority to do anything.
2
No it's the Republican base who are low informed of our legal process at the border, and completely clueless of your parties failed policies that caused this.
2
Complain to congress. President is following immigration law.
2
@hello15848 Those charities do depend on help from the government and they will all tell you that. Must be nice to feel good about donating money in church for causes you don't support in your political choices.

2
They do have some influence, but this has to do with US immigration laws.
2
@Subpar1945 VP has no responsibility when it comes to the border.
2
@mikepryor7467 yes you are showing just how immoral an cruel the Right has become in its need to toss aside any moral compass or respect for our laws.
2
Never has been in congress.
