  1. Title 42 suspends all title 8 laws and authority use to deter and penalize illegal border crossing. The Right is using it to once again undermine legal asylum, 8 US code 1158. It also suspends 8 US code 1325; the misdemeanor that carries a civil penalty for crossing the border. And 8 US code 1326; stiffer penalties for crossing the border. That leaves out any legal penalty or deterrent for those crossing. All we can do is deport, and many re-cross again with no penalty in place. That causes our apprehension numbers to be inflated and the get away numbers to be inflated...

  2.  @ctrudeau55  That doesn't make any since, do what in Mexico as asylum has to be done on US soil? Title 42 doesn't make anyone do anything in Mexico . it just suspends the ability to request asylum or allow entry into the country, while the health order is in place. I think you are confusing Remain in Mexico.
