We were in a 17 year decline in border crossings to the lowest point in 50 years before Trump and his policies. Within two years Trump policies doubled the number of people crossing the southern border to 977,000 in 2019, a 20 year high. 2020 only saw a reduction for the first 9 months due to covid, before going back to a 20 year high by October of 2020. It has remained a 20 year high and growling ever since, still under Trumps failed policies. Biden is trying to go back to laws that were working before Trump.
