  1. Republicans push one lie after another. Title 42 suspends all title 8 laws and authority use to deter and penalize illegal border crossing. The Right is using it to once again undermine legal asylum, 8 US code 1158. It also suspends 8 US code 1325; the misdemeanor that carries a civil penalty for crossing the border. And 8 US code 1326; stiffer penalties for crossing the border. That leaves out any legal penalty or deterrent for those crossing. All we can do is deport, and many re-cross again with no penalty in place. That causes our apprehension numbers to be inflated and the get away numbers to be inflated...

  2. ​ @jeffreyfailing3183  The longer title 42 is in place also increases the number of repeat re-crossers. in the beginning there was a rate of repeat crossing would be low and was around 7-10%, it has grown to about 30-40% according to CBP apprehension data. Asylum seekers can legally cross at any point of the border and seek out a border agent and request asylum without penalty. Once they present themselves to border patrol they can be taken to a port of entry or detention center for processing That's been US law and international treaty for over 40 years. To understand what the Republican's are lying about, you would need to read my initial comment again and understand what it says, and then listen to any Right wing report on the border or any congressional hearing clip on YouTube, they are all filled with lies and manipulation of the truth of our laws and the process. Where would I start. State one thing the Right has claimed about the border and I'll add the missing context. I do understand all of these issue coming from the border and I understand how it happened due to the Rights agenda to stop legal asylum, as they feel the law creates a loophole that they call and open border policy. 8 USC 1158 is what the Right calls an open border policy. it became law almost 50 years ago. in there attempt to stop legal asylum they used child separations and created policies to criminalize asylum. they started remain in Mexico for those who used a port of entry. and then pushed to keep title 42 in place that suspends legal asylum and all title 8 authority that is the only legal deterrent to border crossers. Now does any of this get through the tribaslistic need to believe what ever your leadership tells you and deny anything the left says without knowing anything, is on you. Look at the middle of the night flights that started under trump yet the narrative is they started under Biden. Look at the 450k payments to immigrants that are due to Trump that the Rights blames on Biden. Do the independent research from sites that don't spin the constant rhetoric, fill in the context that is left out.
